Privacy and personal data
What happens to the information you send us through the website, and the audience measurement, set only with your consent.
This English translation is provided for information; the French version prevails.
Who is responsible for your data?
EARL THOMAS, which runs Thomas’ Ranch: La Grand'Maison, 49330 Contigné (Les Hauts-d'Anjou). For any questions: thomas.ranch49@gmail.com or +33 6 70 06 80 97.
What data do we collect?
Only what you type into the website’s forms:
- the contact form, including enquiries about a horse, livery, a lesson, a stay or an event: the subject, your first name and surname, your phone number, your email address, your message and, depending on the subject, the name of the horse, the preferred date or the number of people;
- the shop form (to be notified when the shop opens): your first name and surname, your email address and, if you wish, what you are interested in.
With each submission, the form service also records technical data (IP address, browser, the page the form was sent from), which is used to filter out automated submissions.
What do we use it for?
To reply to your enquiry and, for the shop, to let you know when it opens. We do not use your data to send you advertising, and we do not sell it or pass it on to anyone.
Legal basis: the request you send us (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR); for the shop alert, your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time with a simple email.
Who receives it?
Forms are received by Netlify Forms, the form service of Netlify, Inc., the website’s host, then forwarded by email to the ranch’s inbox (thomas.ranch49@gmail.com, hosted by Google). Only the ranch team reads them.
Netlify is based in the United States: this transfer outside the European Union is covered by the safeguards provided for in the GDPR (the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses).
How long do we keep it?
For three years after our last exchange, after which it is deleted. You can ask for it to be erased sooner, at any time.
What are your rights?
You can access your data, have it corrected or erased, object to its use, ask for its use to be restricted or for data portability, and withdraw your consent. Write to us at thomas.ranch49@gmail.com or by post to EARL THOMAS, La Grand'Maison, 49330 Contigné. We will reply within one month.
Making a complaint
If, after contacting us, you feel that your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority: www.cnil.fr, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07.
Cookies and trackers
The website uses no advertising cookies. Audience measurement only works with your consent, given or refused in the banner shown on your first visit.
- Audience measurement (Google Analytics 4): if you accept it, Google Analytics counts page views, enquiries sent and clicks on our phone numbers, so that we know which pages are useful to you. The “_ga” cookies are kept for 13 months at most, your IP address is not stored, and no data is used for advertising. If you decline, nothing is loaded or sent to Google. Your choice is remembered for 6 months, and you can change it at any time: cookie settings.
- Fonts: they are hosted on the website itself. Your browser does not contact any outside service to display them.
- YouTube videos: at first, the website only shows an image. The video only loads if you click on it, from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. That click then connects you to the servers of YouTube (Google), which applies its own rules.
- Home page animation: your browser only remembers, until you close the tab, that the opening animation has already played. No personal data, and nothing is sent.
- Management area: an essential login cookie is set only for members of the ranch team who log in to update the horses’ pages.
