What should you know about Thomas’ Ranch?
Thomas’ Ranch is a 72-hectare western ranch in Contigné (Les Hauts-d’Anjou), 30 km north of Angers, in Maine-et-Loire. Stéphanie and Jacky Thomas bought La Grand’Maison in 2007, redid the roofs, turned the ruined buildings into gîtes, then built an indoor arena in 2014.
The ranch breeds Quarter Horses and Paint Horses for leisure riding and is home to more than 70 horses. It offers livery, as well as western riding and ranch sorting lessons and clinics with its own herd of cattle, taught by instructors including Valentin Rey, 2024 French reining champion in the limited open class.
It also hosts weddings, corporate events and, in June, the Thomas’ Ranch Festival: three days of country music, horses and American vehicles, founded by Jacky and Stéphanie Thomas and organised with the Thomas Ranchers association. The 15th edition took place from 26 to 28 June 2026.

What is the Thomas’ Ranch Festival?
« L’Amérique s’invite en Anjou » (“America comes to Anjou”): three days in June at the ranch, with country and rock concerts, a dance floor, ranch sorting, horse shows, a display of American vehicles, motorcycle rides and more than twenty exhibitors. The festival is open to everyone, country fans and casual visitors alike.
Founded by Jacky and Stéphanie Thomas, it is organised with the Thomas Ranchers association and driven by a strong volunteer spirit.
